About the Company

An independent house for character-driven stories.

Chapter 01

The Company

Lori Lyle Films is a film production company created and founded by screenwriter and filmmaker Lori Lyle. She built the company out of a love of screenwriting and an undying passion for seeing her stories come to life through film.

Chapter 02

The First Films

Lori Lyle created and produced the company’s first short film, Gallup, in 2016. Since then the company has produced screenplays and films with uncompromising quality and content, building a small, deliberate body of work.

Chapter 03

The Human Condition

Before filmmaking, Lori spent seventeen years as a therapist after earning her Master’s degree in psychology. That deep familiarity with human behavior — its contradictions, its hidden weight — is the raw material she brings to the page.

Chapter 04

Landscape as Character

The work is rooted in the American West and small-town life. Landscape is not scenery here — it is a character. Desert roads, empty highways, the quiet of Southern Utah press on the people who move through them.

Chapter 05

From Page to Screen

Lori works monthly with Jessica Hinds of The Science & Art of Writing, refining a slate of feature-length screenplays alongside the produced shorts. The company operates lean, story-first, and picky about what it makes.

Chapter 06

The Next Chapter

The company continues to develop features — Permitted, Indulgences, Port Chicago, The Cotton Farmer, Gallup, Someone’s Daughter — and shorts including Bird in Hand and Dumping Station. Character-driven stories about ordinary people under extraordinary pressure.
